Gate Fold - Fold Out Card Tutorial

I posted this Gate Fold Card tutorial on Lil' Scrappers but thought I'd add it to my blog as well.

This is the finished card.









Gatefold Fold-out Card Instructions:

1.
You’ll need 3 pieces of cardstock:
(a) 10”x 5” - base
(b) 10” x 4 ¾” - insert
(c) 6” x 4 ¾” - insert

Score from left side at: (crease all with a bone folder for a sharp fold)
(a) 2 ½” & 7 ½”
(b) 4 ¾” & 9 ½”
(c) 4 ¾”

Open base (a) and glue the little flap of (b) to the center of your base, just above the fold on the insert so it will fold into the card. Then do the same with (c) to the back of the first insert. You should have 3 squares to fold inside your card. ** note ** if you'd like it longer, just add more (b) and leave out (c), but your card may not close, it will be thicker





Add (C)





Then all you have to do is add your patterned paper and embellish.....
